About

This is the story of how The Saucy Mews began three years ago this Christmas, born of a lifelong addiction to picking wild fruit, writing ridiculous stories and making natural, high quality and really yummy homemade foods...
It all started in 2008 when my boyfriend, Benny, and I decided to make our Christmas presents, so each member of both our families received a delicious box of goodies, replete with homemade exquisitries each bearing a label featuring an absurd character, designed by Ben, who is an animator and illustrator.  These cornucopic delights were received with unbridled ecstasy, which led me to believe The Saucy Mews was something worth bringing to a wider audience...So, in  August 2009 I started holding tastings in Caviston's Food Emporium in Dun Laoghaire, where my jams, chutneys and puddings were met with many a delighted tastebud.
And so The Saucy Mews embarked on specialising in niche Christmas Hampers, filled with unusual homemade treats to inspire awe and delight in these times of mass production.
And all the gastro gnomes lived happily ever after....
